Who has the control over wedding invitations?
I'm getting married in November. My MIL is not going to contribute monetarily for the wedding.The reception accommodates 125 people and her guest list is almost half of the reception capacity 65people And I don't even know them. They see those people hardly once a year.Should I cut his guest list so I can accommodate more people in my family? Whom I see at least weekly? My family does a lot a parties I like the idea of giving her a limit of guests as one person said 5 couples or 10 people which might not be already on the official guest list

Hi All,My best friend is getting married next year, and as well as her asking me to be a bridesmaid, she asked me to design and make her wedding invitations I am delighted that she asked me and can't wait to get started. Is it worth it to use do-it-yourself wedding invitations to save money?
I am a bride who cherishes beautiful paper the Papyrus store is my mecca , but I am realistic enough to know that not only will the majority of my guests not relish the invitation, but will most likely end up tossing it into the trash or recycle bin once the wedding is over. Trying to be more economical, I've seen do it yourself kits at Michaels and Target and am curious about them. If you've had experience with them, would you recommend the DIY kit? I've heard it can be a stressor as well if your printer does a shoddy job smearing ink, paper jamming, etc. . I'm just not sure if it is worth the cost to order them through a company. Also, I'd like to include " RSVP" cards but I'm wondering, from your personal experience, if they were even used by the guests or ignored overlooked. Ie, Is it worth the investment? . Any and all insight is appreciated Thank you very much

Has anyone used vistaprint for their wedding invitations?
i use them for my business cards and i have been very happy with their service. im looking to cut cost on wedding invitations because although pretty... let's face it, most people leave them on a desk or icebox until they throw them away. i just don't see paying several hundreds of dollars for them. but i also don't want them to look cheap... has anyone used them for invites?to donna c i really like the damask invitations, those, with the envelopes and linen paper are STILL hundreds cheaper than my next cost effective choice from davids bridal. i think i am going to order the smallest package of 10 for $10.00. if i hate them, i have only lost ten dollars and if i like them, they will not go to waste.THANKS to all those who responded so far
