EBAY!! I save $300 going through ebay! There are card designers on there where you can pick out the invite, the lettering and wording and any extras. I was VERY impressed by my wedding invitations for last November. |

Most craft stores or even Walmart have do it yourself invites that you do on a computer and they still look very nice. I used them for our wedding and they turned out better then some of the expensive invites I have seen. |

I got mine at Hobby Lobby and printed them myself. You can get them at any craft store or even Walmart has the Martha Stewart collection wedding stuff now. I spent about $30 on the invitations and about $40 on ink to print them all. I loved them and got a lot of compliments on them. |

Some sites that have wedding invitations also may have a way to order their invitations they no longer create - kind of like overstock. As with most companies they bulk produce the invitations and then print what you want on them. If you can get these over stocks then all you need to do is have a print center - Staples - print what you want. |

Michael's just got a whole new line of invites! They are so great; my sis is using them. I wish they had them when I got married last year. Easy to print off yourself, and they have coordinating place cards, programs, save the dates, etc. michaels.com/ art/ online/ displayProductPage?productNum= wd0355 &channelid= Here's one example. You can get 40% off coupons to use, also. retailmenot.com/ view/ michaels.com They also come in the Sunday paper most weeks. So you can get an invite kit (30 in each kit) with invites, reception cards, etc for like $25!! |

I am in the same boat as you. I think we are going to go with David's Bridal. If you watch for them to go on sale, they are pretty reasonable on their website (davidsbridal.com) as long as you don't get all the add-ons (lined envelopes, pre-printed embossed address on reply envelopes, etc.) Also, as others mentioned, you can buy invitations from several places that you can print yourself. Many places sell them, but the best quality and best price ones I have seen were at Target, Micheal's, and surprisingly Office Depot. |

You can always print them yourself. Most craftstores have kits, but stay away from Michaels, they only have the "Brides " magazine kits and they're almost as expensive as having someone make it for you professionally. Or you can go to Office Max, Office Depot or Staples. Good luck! |

Make them yourself, my sister saved like $500 doing it herself. you can get invitation boxes @ a craft store, most of them will include RSVP cards so all you have to do is put together the invitation as in write/ type/ print what you want written on the cards. buy a envelope sealer as well this way you wont have to lick everything! |

I just made invites for my brother's wedding- I got about 84 invites for $50.00. What I did was, I went to Michael's Craft store- check in your area for an alternative to Hobby Lobby- Where I live, for example, Hobby Lobby is about 25% more expensive than Michaels. Buy 12x12 card stock in a solid color (texture is ok, but make sure it doesn't conflict with your patterned paper)- I bought 14, 12x12 scrapbooking paper with a design on it- anything goes, as long as it matches to your taste, AND it kinda should match the style of your wedding. I bought 11 of these. You also need a kind of paper called Vellum. Michaels had a pack of 20 white (clear) sheets for less than $5.00. You will need small, double-side adhesive glue dots, skinny, thin ribbon, and scissors and a ruler or a cutting board. (see if you can borrow one from someone if you know someone that does scrapbooking.) You will also need a small hole punch, ideally about half the size of a standard hole punch. Then, go to an office supply store and go into the envelope isle, and purchase a box of larger envelopes- I think mine were 6.5x8.25, a box of 125 for $8.50, and a box of standard size envelopes- 4.5x5, a box of 150 for about $6.50. Then go over to the buisness cards, and pick up a pack of perferated cards- I got 250 for under $6.00. To put it all together: *Take the solid color card stock, and cut it into (6) 4x6 peices. Repeat with all pages. *Take the patterned scrapbook paper, and cut into 5x3's. Repeat for all pages. *Take the vellum, and cut it into 4x6's. Print your invitaion info on this. Tip: My printer did not want to print on the vellum because it was too thin. I used double sided tape to hold it onto a piece of photo paper, printed it, and removed it from the photo paper and double sided tape. *Take 4 small glue dots. Stick one to each corner of the patterned paper. Center it on the card stock, and stick. Line up the veluum on tip of the paper, but do not use glue dots or tape. Punch 2 holes with your hole punch in the top of the entire invitation- center it over the wording on the vellum, and make them only about 1/ 4 inch apart. Use a small strip of ribbon- about 4 inches will do it, and string it up through each hole, so the loose ends are coming up through the front of the card. Tie them into a double knot, and cut the ends off to equal lengths, at an angle. ***For an added touch, if you have room without cutting off some of the wording, you can take a pair of pinking scissors and cut the sides and bottom of the invite. RSVP CARDS: This is where the buisness cards come in. Print on two cards: One is the location and time info, and the other is the RSVP info. Print them on your computer, and send to cards still stuck together. Your guests can tear them apart, send in the RSVP part, and keep the location and time info for their future reference. |

I used Vistaprint.com for mine, we got 50 invites, save the dates, rsvp cards, magnets, notepads, and a pair of "just married " car magnets for $65.00. I designed my own from scratch and uploaded our logo with a photo, but they do have templates if you're not that savvy. Thing is - we weren't going for that light and airy embossed look that seems so popular. Ours are glossy, bold, and modern. So it really worked perfectly for that. If you decide to check into it, just sign up for the emails specials first, so all your products are "free " - you just pay shipping. I was really, really pleased with the way they turned out, and we got all the fancy stuff we wanted WAY under budget - and if you choose not to go with all the extras, you'll save even more money. |
