Going to a friend's engagement party... what's something "hot" but appropriate to wear?

Question: Going to a friend's engagement party... what's something "hot" but appropriate to wear?

I was thinking of a dress or something 'girly " I don't want to wear pants. My friend is arab and so is her fiance. She's pretty modern, but I was just wondering what people would normally wear? lol I'm gonna go there with cleavage galore. It's a dinner + music etc What do you think? Sorry... I meant to say I'm NOT gonna go there with cleavage galore.

Nothing slutty is appropriate for an engagement party. The attention should be on your friend. Not you.

Can't go wrong with a LBD(little black dress) and some killer heels and accessories that make the outift pop. Classic and chic at the same time.

Cleavage galore? Dressing Hot? Honey, don't make a big big mistake. Ask your friend what is appropriate to wear. If she gives the go-ahead for club-wear (dressing as you describe) then I suppose you could go ahead and make a fool of yourself. However, if she suggests you wear something conservative and prim, then do so. It's only a party - and you are not the center of attention either. See, just because she is more "western " in her ideas, doesn't mean there won't be family members (from both sides) who are pretty conservative and would feel appalled at seeing you dressed like a streetwalker (in their eyes). So, ask your friend for advice on what to wear. Don't embarrass her (or yourself) by dressing foolishly.

You can never go wrong with a little black dress. If it's a spring/ summer party, wear the same style dress in a brighter/ lighter color.

Lol.. if you're going to have cleavage you shouldn't have bare leg... if you're going to have bare legs you shouldn't have cleavage. only one focal point... i think a little black dress would do the trick with some nice jewelery.. sexy but elegant. :)
