You'll want some nice cardstock and a reliable printer, but if you're creative, you really don't need any special software. Just do a yahoo search for diy wedding invitations and you'll see plenty of inspiring examples. |

Some major craft stores sell blank card stock of the thickness meant for making cards. Not sure if it's meant for going though the printer, but could be worth looking to see if it is. Some craft stores specifically have a wedding section that might have paper for it. |

If you go to staples (or any other office supply store) they have a whole huge selection of really nice card-stock type paper, some of it is actually pre-etched or pre-printed with silver/ gold/ pink, etc designs. Pick one you like and go crazy. You can definitely use MS Word to type everything up. If you want a little more work, but something that will end up looking a little more professional. again, Staples, or any other office supply store will carry some form of "create-a-card " software. I got mine a few years back for about $12(American Greetings Creat-a-Card). Today, they probably range somewhere between $10-20 In this case, load up on glossy cardstock or any nice looking paper of your choice, install the program and you're all set to start making your own invites. These programs also tend to have the option of making your own envelopes as well. Congratulations and Good Luck! |

If you have a Michaels near you then you should be able to get the things you need there. they have sectiosn for that kind of stuff and full wedding sections. if not then you would need a stock card kind of paper and whatever you want (ribbon...etc) to make them look nice. you can get ideas online as well if you just google it. |

You should try going to Target in the wedding section (right by the crafts) they have a pack of 50 invitations that are gorgeous and all you have to do is print on them, as well as the RSVP cards and envelopes for only $29.99. If you go to Michaels, they are closing them out right now and they're on sale for $19.99. |

You can get beautiful cardstock (cover sheets) at envelopemall.com along with great colored envelopes, and other paper. Their prices are great as well. Check out the stardream metallic sheets. |

I'm thinking about going with these. orientaltrading.com/ application?namespace= browse &origin= / products/ 12_3092.jsp &event= link.externalProductDetails &sku= 12/ 3092 &topLevelCategoryId= 377320 &parentCategoryId= 377344 &categoryId= 377982 &tabId= PartySupplies &BP= 8067 &cm_mmc= srchdex-_-Wedding+ Photo+ Invitation%2FNote+ Card+ Kit-_-srchdex-_-srchdex &CM_REF= http%3A%2F%2Forientaltrading.com%2Fproducts%2FC377982.jsp They also have less expensive options. orientaltrading.com/ products/ C377982.jsp I was at Wal-mart the other day a noticed they had a bunch of DIY invitations by Wilton on clearance. My impression is that you download the template from the website of the manufacturer. But you could also buy which ever card stock you like and try one of these templates. office.microsoft.com/ en-us/ help/ HA100722941033.aspx |

You can order blank invites online or purchase from a paper supply company or craft store. you don't need software, just need to line up your margins properly most invite packages have instructions on how to set up your print margins etc you can also purchase organza ribbon to decorate the invites. lil glitter, scrapbook embellishments, velum etc make sure if you diy that you get extras in case you make an oops. and proofread 3 times. then have 2 other ppl proofread to make sure nothing is left out |

Have you seen Targets new wedding line? They have invitations that you print directly on the paper and put the invitations together yourself. They have some really cute and cheap ones! target.com/ gp/ search/ 602-0478363-6275850?field-keywords= wedding+ invitations &url= index%3Dtarget &ref= sr_bx_1_1 &x= 0 &y= 0 Scroll through and check them all out. Just wanted to throw this idea at you. |

Borrow the Crane Wedding Blue Book from the library and read it thoroughly, so you know how to do the etiquette and wording correctly. Lots of people who make their own invitations really screw them up, so be very careful. |
