Are printable invitations worth the hassle?

Question: Are printable invitations worth the hassle?

(Posted by: jcottel on 2006-03-20 14:08:25)

I'm trying to save money on wedding invitations. Can someone who's gone this route tell me if it's worth the hassle or if I should just fork over the extra money?

You know what I found that after buying the invitations and then printing them, that I spend still quite a bit on the invitations and the ink cartridges. so it is personal preference, I think it is easier to just have them printed. Willow Tree Lane Invitations are affordable and good quality.

U could get a all in one invitaions. is one invitaion with the rsvp attache to it. it's less money and less stressful.

Yes they can be very helpful andif u are running out of time or like to customize things yourself you shoul really think about using them.

Yes worth the hassle. I just had to go through getting wedding cards designed and printed for my brothers wedding and honestly the whole back and forth for design approval and ink cartridge cost, card paper ( plus the printer acted up ) ended up costing nearly as much as it would have costed getting them done professionaly.

Check the price for your invite paper, rsvp type cards, ink, etc. then head to party city and see what their prices are. they have discounts on every part of the invitation order and save so much hassle. you would be surprised how cheap and easier it might be no matter how easy you think it would be to do it yourself. if you go the diy route, start early. starting at the last minute makes things frantic and mistakes start to happen. at least with a professional mistake, they will reprint correctly and usually refund your money. happened to us and it was no big deal since we ordered well in advance.

I did up my own invitations.. and they are perfect.. i really don't know if i saved money or if it ended up costing more.. and really.. i didn't much care.. i wanted to do them myself.. so if you have the time.. and patience.. then do them yourself :)

For invitations, I am on the edge, could go either way. I got printed ones because they looked nicer and matched my theme and colors more than anything I could do. For the thankyou cards, however, it was worth getting a nice page with clouds printed on it and typing up personalized thanks. Invites you can send to everyone the same, but I was not going to handwrite a hundred cards. Pluse more people save invitations than thankyou cards, so consider that as well.
