Question: How to word wedding invitations when you are already married?
(Posted by: year of the dragon on 2010-01-28 07:41:27)
We are already married, but now we have the money saved to do a formal ceremony with friends and family. We are paying for everything and I was wondering about how to word the wedding invitations. Should I put my maiden name or my married name? Should it be my husbands name first or my name first? I am really looking for some suggestions on how to word the invitations. Help me, please. |

Tacky to even think it's a "wedding " - If you want to invite your friends to a party (and have them bring gifts) then invite them to the party. But to make it sound like you're really having a wedding is silly and a slap in the face to the institution you've already committed to. |

Can't do that. if you're already married, you'll never find an officiant to 'act' out a wedding with you. the wedding ahs already happened so you're not sending wedding invitations, you're sending reception invitations. but don't re-enact the wedding if people already know you're married, that's dumb. and if people DON'T already know you're married, and you try to trick them into coming to a ceremony, that's just plain gauche. just throw a nice dinner reception and use your married name on the invitations. |
