Question: How do i word my destination wedding invitations?
(Posted by: Chelsea H on 2010-02-04 21:56:19)
My Fiance and I are getting married in the Dominican Republic, We are not having a reception when we get back home way to expensive for us, which is why we're going away simple beautiful and fun. We'd love to invite friends and family but we're afraid it'd be to expensive for them. I need a way to word my invitations invite them but let them know it's okay if they can't join us! please help! |

You could word it.... We know that some of you will not be able to join us, but our fingers are crossed and hoping by giving you lots of notice you might be able to. There's actually lots of good sayings on aprylsdesigns.com - see the Destination Wedding Invitation section |

RSVP Means let us know if you plan to attend. That is all you need to do on the invitations. Why have the wedding so far away, I mean have it in a park or at someone's home, those are cheap to do. Then have your honeymoon in the Dominican Republic. Having the wedding so far away is like uninviting everyone. |

You would word it as you would a regular wedding invitation. Your friends and family should know that an invitation is not a summons, destination wedding or not. |

Hi Chelsea and congratulations on your upcoming wedding. You do not need any special wording. Word your invites exactly as you would if you were having a "home " wedding. There is no need to add extra notes like "we understand if you cannot make it. " People know that you are thinking this. Yes, a destination wedding is very expensive, some will not be able to make it. Just word the invite normally and have an RSVP deadline date early enough so that you can plan accordingly (reception) for those who DO come. |
