Do you mean using invites that you buy in a box, and just write down your own information on the inside? To be honest - if you're able to customized them a bit, you know, add your own flair to it - something to represent yourself and your partner - I think they could be great. :) Just make sure they give a little insight into the colors - or what to expect - at the wedding. :P OR Do you mean an invite that is delivered in a box? pics.gallery.weddingbee.com/ 2818.box_invitations.jpg.resize Cause those seem like a bunch of fun. Hard work - but entirely cool looking! :) |

There's nothing wrong with them. Of course, printed, customized wedding invitations are much more lavish, sophisticated, and significant, but they are also time-consuming and very, very expensive. There are lots of boxed invitations you can buy at gift or craft stores (some of the pricier ones are actually really nice...maybe even as nice as the personalized ones) that are actually very savvy and pleasant-looking. The only down-side of boxed invitations however, is that you have to hand-write each and every one...talk about hand cramps! (: Good luck! <3 |

If you have the money to pay for them and have them custom-made, they can be quite beautiful. However I recently recieved a DIY boxed invite and they were really, really awful looking...I'd say either expect to fork over a chunk of change having them made for you or making them yourself the RIGHT way, or forget about them. |

Fine by me. ETA: As for handwriting out all the invitations, some invitations come with template software which allows you to enter all your invitees into a data sheet and will print off the invitations with all the info just as you tell it to. You get to pick the font and colours and whatever else you want to add to it. |
