Stuffing wedding invitations tonight, might have left out a response card or two. what to do?

Question: Stuffing wedding invitations tonight, might have left out a response card or two. what to do?

(Posted by: Jennifer S on 2010-07-02 23:48:42)

Fiance and I divided the duties of stuffing, sealing, and stamping the invitations. One of us might have left out a response card in an invitation or two. Do I call the couple of people who might have not received the full invitation bundle and ask if they didn't get a response card or just go ahead and send another response card at the same time and explain it later? Probably only 2 invitations are affected. The only reason that I don't want to just send out a completely new invitation bundle is that the professionally printed envelopes look so nice. I don't want these people to not get an invite with a fancy addressed envelope. I realize that might be silly, but I want everything to be so elegant and right.

Don't worry about it. The people who didn't get one probably know to RSVP. And anyway, you'll have some people who don't RSVP on time and you end up having to contact, so either way everyone will be covered.

Can you feel, by pressing the envelope, which one is thinner and missing the response card? Or maybe you have a sensitive scale and can weigh each one to find the light ones? Otherwise, youll have to hope that whoever did not get one will just call you to respond. Anyone with an ounce of sense would just call you. I certainly would not open all the envelopes over it.

Jennifer, I like fizzy stuff's answer and I also agree with your idea. Send them out as is. Wait a few days and CALL the ones that you think may not have received a response card. Explain the mistake and go from there! I am sure your guests will apppreciate your follow through. Good luck and congratulations!
