Question: Ugh, what am i supposed to do about my wedding rehearsal!!?
(Posted by: GagesMomColie on 2009-06-16 19:54:44)
2 out of 3 groomsmen and the maid of honor AND the bishop marrying us cannot attend the wedding rehearsal if we do it the night before the wedding. But I'm trying to avoid doing it the day of as I don't wanna be stressed out. Everybody but the bishop can attend the wedding dinner the night before, so why can't they do the rehearsal which is right before the dinner? UGH. What should I do? The venue is booked except fot the night before and the day of to do the rehearsal. We can't do the rehearsal later than 5:30, its at 5 pm. I know people have lives, but I've been to weddings where they didn't rehearse and it was chaotic and ridiculous. I don't ask hours of their lives, i ask for 1/ 2 hour just so they know what the hell they are doing, our dinner starts at 6pm. |

HOW DARE they all have lives when it's all about you and your wedding. Seriously, what disaster is going to occur if you don't have a rehearsal ? The world will still turn on it's axis and you will still get married. It's not that hard, they basically have to walk down the aisle and stand at the end of it and smile. It'll work itself out. |

Maybe push it back farther that evening. Or even push it back in the week. You don't have to do it the night before. You could always do dinner and then rehearsal. You don't have to do the rehearsal at the place you are getting married necessarily either. Just pretend you are there. Good luck and don't stress. It will just fall in to place! |

Ok, if everyone can attend the wedding dinner, but not the rehearsal... have the dinner slightly earlier, and have the rehearsal following straight after... not many people want to miss dinner, so all would be there. You could have the rehearsal before dinner if you wish, with the dinner waiting as the reward! As to the Bishop... can you ask him to clear his diary for that time slot to be there and invite to dinner? He is an important part of the rehearsal. Failing that, give him a full print out of what is to be happening and when. Go through it with him when you are able to make the time. Don't stress over it, something will work out. Good luck and I hope you have as much fun as we did at our rehearsal. |

Hi. Is it a work issue? Why can they attend the dinner, but not the rehearsal right before? I'm confused. Can you possibly do the dinner FIRST and then the rehearsal AFTER? I did go to one rehearsal that was like that....dinner first and then rehearsal. |

If everyone is local, why not have the rehearsal a couple nights before the wedding? |
