Question: What should i wear to a wedding rehearsal?
(Posted by: ril3y on 2009-10-19 08:55:11)
The wedding is formal, for sure. My boyfriend is a groomsman. I am not a part of the wedding party. I was included on the invitation to the dress rehearsal + dinner the night before the wedding, and I'm not sure how formally I should dress. Is this something I should just ask the couple (I'm not that close to them), or is there a standard dress code people follow? This is the first time I'll be attending a formal wedding. Thanks! |

The rehearsal dinner is USUALLY dressy, but not as dressy as a wedding. Think "church dressy " or "work dressy " - a nice dress, a skirt and nice top, black dress pants and a nice top. Heels or flats or dress boots (not sandals unless you're at the beach) and nice jewelry. No need for a formal gown or anything, unless the invitation specifically says so. I wouldn't worry too much about this - the couple ultimately wants you, their guest, to have a good time, not fret over an outfit. |

Since you are not that close to the couple, but your BF obviously is then have him ask. Generally though, you would be safe wearing what you would wear if you were going out to a nice restaurant. You don't have to get as dressy as you will for the wedding, but you should dress nicer than you would on an average normal day. |

Wear something that will go with what your boyfriend is wearing. Try and dress like him. If he is dressing up nice and fancy then you dress up nice and fancy. If he is dressing in blue jeans and a t-shirt you dress in blue jeans and a t-shirt. Just try and follow his lead. That's all you have to do. |

I think everyone at my rehearsal wore blue jeans. Ask them, not us. The bride or groom will tell your bf what kind of attire is expected for their rehearsal. |
