Wedding Rehearsal Make Your Own

Question: How far is too far to drive from the place of the wedding rehearsal to the actual dinner?

From the place of the rehearsal (cite of the ceremony) to the place where we would eat, how far is too far to drive? Is it normally really close?

Relatively close is good, aim for 5-10 miles, closer if your guests will be during rush hour. Basically, no longer than a 20 minute commute.

Anything over 1/ 2 an hour drive would be too far for the rehearsal dinner. You don't want your wedding party to have a really long drive the night before the wedding.

I think it really depends what city your in. Depending on the time of day and traffic, it can take 2 hours to get from one end to another end of the same city. Or if you live in a small out-skirting city, most services are in the main city while your church might be in your home town. When the rehearsal is over, everyone's job is done so what does it matter how long it takes to get to the place to eat, by that time it's time to party. It'd say 60km to be fair or about 1 hr.

My wedding venue is an hour away from "home " since it is in my college town. Most of the guests will be staying in my hometown so for the rehearsal night, we will... 1. Drive an hour to venue and rehearse! 2. Drive 30 minutes to city in between college and hometown for rehearsal dinner 3. Drive the remaining 30 minutes home.
