I am getting married soon. I need some wedding tips. Any advice from brides or wedding planners will help. Even wedding guest advice will help. |

Enjoy the moment. Things go wrong at wedding. But, just remember that the guest won't notice. Don't worry too much about it. Don't worry who you didn't invite. Everything works out alright in the end. |

Try to enjoy the day and make sure you make time to eat a good meal. |

Don't lose sight of the most important part of getting married. And that is tying the knot with your fiance. It is exciting and you get all wrapped up in the wedding preparation details, but always remember that the day is about the journey you are about to embark on together. Invite the people that matter to you and support you, don't invite people just to have people at the wedding. Believe me, you barely see these people after your wedding. Keep a realistic budget and realistic expectations so you don't start off your married life having a huge debt. Good luck and congratulations! |

The food thing. Your so busy you barely have time to eat. My sister was so hungry they ate the top of their wedding cake that night. Have a friend pack a picnic basket as a gift to send along to the suite. |

Shop online...I repeat: shop online. You would not BELIEVE the deals that I got for my wedding at OrientalTrading.com. I bought several items including the wedding favors from their website. We also got our personalized (engraved) cake server set there for $20, no kidding, and it was gorgeous. Go to Ebay! I bought my veil there for $20 (it was flawless and beautiful, everyone couldn't believe that's where I got it), and also my wedding garter (Homer Simpson, my husband's FAVORITE) and I don't think I would've ever found that anywhere else...ever! Also, go to your Walmart, of course. We bought our guest book there, bags for candy for the reception, bubbles, the list goes on and on, and it was all CHEAP. Try not to get too stressed...this is such a fun time, planning your wedding. Congratulations!!! Good luck with everything. |

I know it's not what you want to hear, but you should spend more time focusing on the marriage - not just the wedding. The wedding is just one day. That said, the best thing I did was to create a folder that had all of our important wedding info inside. I included all the info for our vendors, wedding party, color swatches, a list of guests including who had rsvp'ed, food selection, gift description, and if we had sent a thank you card. This binder came in VERY handy when my best friend got married and wanted our photographer's #. I know it's hard with everyone making demands for your time, but find a quiet moment after the ceremony to be alone with your husband and enjoy being "man and wife " before the reception. And lastly do not ask anyone to help or be involved (ie bridesmaid, usher, etc) that you are not completely sure will come thru for you. I made the mistake of asking my husband's step-sister to be a bridesmaid and she was a NIGHTMARE! She complained about everything - the dress, the make-up (which I paid to have professionally done), the bacherlorette party, and she didn't even bother coming to the bridal shower. If I had it to do all over - she wouldn't even have been invited |

Get a good night's rest the night before. The day goes by so fast - plan a moment for you and your husband to spend a few quiet moments together. Plan time (either go by tables, or receiving line) to greet every guest, otherwise you'll end up missing people. Know that something will go wrong - don't freak out. It will make for good stories later. My zipper broke 5 mins after putting on the dress. We missed some limo ride time, but have some great pictures of my mom sewing me into the dress. Strongly consider doing pictures before the wedding. You can stage the "big reveal " for when you meet with your fiance the first time that day. Pictures before the wedding let you go straight from the ceremony to the party. Plus if you have the "big reveal " before the walk down the aisle, you help to difuse all the strong feelings you have so they aren't hitting you all at that one moment. Smile (your picture is always getting taken) and enjoy one of the most important days of your life. |

Wait a year and see if you are still inclined. I'm serious! |
