My friend is getting married and wanted to know any tips on things to avoid during a wedding and things to not avoid so everything can go smoothly.

Have some condoms with you, the last thing you would want is your wife being pregnant on your wedding day.. lol

Don't try and make it to posh keep it nice smart and formal some guests might get a bit uncomfortable and also keep a range of food open for selection not to many salads so everyone can eat something that was the mistake my father made.

Avoid drinking lots of water as this will want her to go to the toilet more often and she mustn't eat too much and just be herself and enjoy every moment of it.

Things not to forget : invite all friends and family. don't make it very expensive, just small party and go to honey moon. give so simple souvenirs for your friends and family to remember this day. good preparing and schedule for the party. make only one person organizer for party.

I got married in June, it was such a wonderful day :) I was lucky enough to be able to have a big wedding. I had classic cars, a designer dress, a four tier cake, a 5 course sit down meal for 150 guests. the lot. Anyway, I don't say this to gloat only to point out that you don't need any of this. The best part of the day was saying our vows in front of our friends and family. The rest didn't improve the day, nothing could have improved that day, it was the best of my life. So I guess my tip is whilst planning your wedding, don't forget about the importnant part. Designer dresses are great, I loved mine, but they don't matter. Good luck xxx

Don't stress if something isn't quite right! Relax and enjoy your day!

Keep it simple and elegant, don't over do things keep the guest list minimal don't expect too much and know things can go wrong and its not the end of the world make a checklist and use it keep alcohol to a min. so guests don't overdo it write down the vows so you don't forget check you have everything before leaving for the venue

~Concentrate on the marriage, not the wedding ~Only stick to "traditions " if they actually mean something to you and if you understand WHY they are traditions. Don't stress that you don't want a white gown or that you aren't comfortable with a garter if those traditions mean nothing to you. ~This will save you $20,000: Buy a gorgeous gown from eBay, have the reception at a home or at the ceremony site, don't rent any transportation (in fact, arrive in the car that you've spent your relationship and engagement driving), have the bridal party take care of their own clothing (choose an easy color like black), ask people to contribute to wedding things instead of a gift (buying champagne, flowers, paying for the cake, buying decorations, favors, etc.) With the above things, you won't notice a difference but you'll save 20K. We're having a wonderful, meaningful wedding for a few thousand.
